How To Support The IRF
The Incentive Research Foundation (IRF), a private not-for-profit foundation, funds research studies and develops products serving all segments of the global incentive industry. The Foundation focuses its initiatives on pragmatic research highlighting the premise and the power of incentive and motivational programs. Through these efforts, the IRF helps businesses to develop effective motivational and performance improvement strategies.
Because the IRF’s principal focus is funding research projects, most or our efforts are focused on raising money to support our research projects. Through many channels, we work hard to raise funds to increase our reserves used to finance the research, which requires a vast array of talent.
How can you get more involved to support the Foundation?
There are many ways to get involved with the Foundation. If you would like more details on any of the opportunities below please contact Melissa Van Dyke at m.vandyke@theIRF.org.
1. Become a “friend of the IRF”: Register on the IRF website to receive updates and more importantly, the “pulse surveys” which generate information regarding up-to-the-moment trends of the incentive industry. Go to www.theirf.org to register.
2. Volunteer your time and expertise. There are opportunities for you to use your talents and time to support the Foundation. The work of the Foundation is done at the committee level, so review the information on each committee outlined below to help you decide where your interests and talents best fit, and volunteer as a committee member.
Current committees of the Foundation
-
INVITATIONAL: Responsible for producing and delivering “best of class” sponsored event for travel supplier engagement with incentive end user/ buyers at the Annual IRF Invitational (IRF’s primary funding source.) This includes preparation of an RFP for an event management company to run the event, overseeing the activities, expenditures, revenues, and marketing related to the event. Also includes assisting with the onsite logistics of the event.
-
NOMINATING: Responsible for assuring Trustee continuity and succession by both maintaining a pipeline of and recommending a group of well-qualified candidates for election as Trustees and Officers to the Foundation Board. This committee is responsible for identifying skills, experience and gaps in the Board (balance of wisdom, wealth, work), reviewing nomination procedures, maintaining the trustee term grid, and supervising the elections in a highly confidential and professional manner. Ensures that all candidates have a thorough grasp of the task and commitment levels involved, and that this is also understood and accepted by the employers of candidates, when appropriate, with written confirmation of company support for candidacy.
-
RESEARCH: Responsible for developing a research strategy for the Foundation and assures that there is a pipeline of usable, actionable research projects that will advance the growth and understanding of the incentive industry. This includes primary research, secondary research and pulse surveys. This committee is responsible for creating beneficial alliances with academic institutions, corporate universities, and business associations and organizations. Presents requests for grants to the Board of Trustees with its recommendation for action; then, oversees the research projects and their timeliness. This committee also produces the content for the annual roundtables and provides the communications and development committees with the key research points that should be included when marketing or packaging IRF research for external consumption.
-
COMMUNICATIONS: Responsible for the issuance of all written and oral communications to the trade and business press, and others in order to maximize the exposure of published reports including white papers, press releases, eNewsletters, website content, twitter posts, and linked in updates. This committee develops multiple distribution channels and balances widespread dissemination versus brand identity and control.
-
EDUCATION: Responsible for packaging and producing educational materials based on IRF (and potentially outside) research. At a minimum, this committee plans and executes the content for two roundtables at the IRF Annual Invitational, one Educational Session at the IRF Annual Invitational, and one webinar a year. When appropriate, this team also oversees the content creation for the Education Day at the Motivation Show. Committee also works in tandem with the research committee to understand research results, the communications committee to market educational events, and the invitational committee to plan and execute invitational events. Committee also determines how content of sessions is stored, reused and/or repurposed for revenue generating purposes. Committee works closely with the President, IRF to determine speaking engagement protocol, strategy and delivery.
3. Sponsorship
If you work for a supplier, you may be able to support the IRF by securing a higher level of sponsorship from your organization. Sponsorship opportunities are available at the Annual Invitational and throughout the year at other events in which the IRF participates: IT&ME (MotivationShow) Education Day,
If you feel you can assist with a stronger sponsorship package, please contact the IRF at the contact information found at the bottom of this document.
