Media Center / 2023 IRF Service Award Winners Announced
The 2023 IRF Service Awards were announced during the opening general session of the 2023 IRF Education Invitational. From serving on Boards and Committees to participating in research studies to amplifying our messages on social media, volunteers are critical to the impact the IRF is making on the incentives industry. The IRF Service Awards help us recognize and celebrate the innovative work of our volunteers.
Jeff Broudy received the Outstanding Service to IRF Award. This award honors a member of the incentives community who has made a significant impact on the trajectory of the IRF over a long period of time. Recipients of this award have demonstrated stewardship, strategic guidance, and selfless dedication to the organization. The award was presented by Mark Alt, IRF Board Chair.
Stephanie Harris, IRF President said, “This year, we are recognizing an individual who truly shifted the trajectory of this organization. Jeff Broudy served on the board for several years and was the Chair of the IRF in 2010 and 2011. He was instrumental in changing the agenda of the IRF, driving more focus on research output and education… He is wise, he is gruff, he is kind, and I’m grateful to call him my mentor and friend.”
The recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award was Isabel Mahon. This award recognizes the outstanding work of individuals who have gone above and beyond to independently initiate, lead, or volunteer for work that supports and advances the mission of the IRF. The award was presented by IRF Sponsor Development Committee Chair Patricia Kerr and Co-Chair Karen Devine.
“Isabel Mahon is a long-time Sponsorship committee member. Over the last two years, she helped to lead the redesign of our sponsorship program and Invitational RFP. The new partner program launched in 2022, and Isabel was instrumental in its creation. This work has set the IRF up for long-term success,” said Harris.
IRF partnered with The Above and Beyond Foundation to identify three incredible hospitality professionals who went “above and beyond” during the 2023 IRF Education Invitational.
The study explores trends in attendee preferences, factors in destination selection, and how incentive travel program design can impact employee motivation.
